McCain (William D.) pamphlet collection, 1935-1987.

The collection consists of pamphlets, books, reports and speeches concerning communism, fascism, civil rights, desegregation, and other race-related matters collected by William D. McCain. The collection also includes an audio cassette and typescript of a 1987 speech about the living conditions of families of Confederate soldiers that McCain presented to the Easterling Family Genealogical Society in Laurel, Mississippi.

William David McCain (1907-1993) was a nationally recognized author, lecturer, historian, archivist and genealogist. He taught at several colleges in Mississippi before serving as director of the Mississippi Department of Archives & History from 1938 to 1955.
